Process engineering
Years of experience in process engineering and application of best worldly practices is what makes EEC the good choice for project implementationin different branches of industries. We are able to offer “turnkey” project realization for a large number of applications in the energy usage area.We possess great work experience in brewing industry, where through several international companies we adopted world class business models and we are more than capable to finalize complete optimization of brewery systems from the brewing department to the packaging department. We can offer projects for optimization in all industry branches with a note that our specialty is food industry. By the term turnkey project, we considercomplete project realization from the TO BE (conceptual solution) till the startup and the delivery of AS built design, both in electronic and printed form. We organize all types of installation works, both mechanical and electrical, as well as development of necessary software applications. We guarantee selection of equipment with best possible performances for each specific project, and also optimum dimensioning of complete equipment with the minimum energy consumption during the exploitation period.
Possibilities for the project implementation
Our subcontractors are top companies in the domain of piping works and welding, mechanical, electrical and software works. Any how, if the client desires, all installation works can be organized by the client himself. In that case, EEC can offer to participate in the project in certain phases of it: preparation of the conceptual solution, preparation of all necessary documentation for tendering, preparation of built design, selection of equipment, proving contracted parameters (tests, commissioning…). Everything that has been stipulated in the section “Energy” can be realized as turnkey project or as involvement in particular segments of the project. All of it is based on practical experience where everything has been conducted with proven performances in real conditions.
Some of the projects that have been successfully implemented:
Complete automation of Boiler houses
Installation of flue gas utilizers onto gas boilers (economizers), installation of necessary measuring devices for the visualization of the boiler house efficiency and energy consumption in some parts of the plant. Software has been developed to indicate wanted parameters in a certain time frame, such as:
- Efficiency of the boiler house,
- Heat consumption in the complete plant,
- Heat consumption of some plant areas,
- Heat consumption of large consumers,
- Condensate recovery.
In the scope of this project the complete automation and visualization of the condensate recovery system has been finalized as well, where among other things steam traps have been grouped according to functional locations and during this, a system for automated control of groups of steam traps has been designed. In case of a failure on one of the steam traps the system automatically generates an alarm and by it enables a timely reaction. Automation of the feeding water tank has been done, as also on-line visualization and control of feed water and the recovered condensate, recuperation of heat energy from blowdown and degassing, but also recuperation of heat energy from the condensate, since, due to technological processes it is not possible to cool it down under 100°C.
Complete automation of cooling plants
Selection of lead compressors in the primary cooling circle with variable speed drive, development of algorithm for compressor startup with minimum energy consumption and maintaining technological process. Condenser automation in the primary cooling circle, including the treatment of water for the condensers. Large consumers of cooling energy have been slowed down to the technological minimum and predictive regulation of cooling plant operations has been implemented. The operation of the plant has been set up according to the startup of the consumers unlike common systems where the regulation has been done according to the pressure of the cooling agent. Managing the total electrical load and correction of the startup of large machines has been achieved by this. System for tracking the efficiency of the complete cooling plant has been developed and implemented.
Complete automation of compressed air plants
Selection of lead compressors with variable speed drives, development of algorithm for compressor start up with minimum energy consumption. The compressed air network has been entirely restructured and operation on minimum work pressure has been made possible. Automated control for monitoring the efficiency of the compressed air plant has been implemented, as well as complete automation of adsorption air dryers.
CO2 recovery plant
Installation of plant for recovery of CO2 that originates from fermentation process. The representatives of EEC have, with the support of certain specialized companies, installed automated plant for CO2 recovery, CO2 is being utterly purified and in liquidity sold as finished product to the plants that have a need for it.
Water treatment plant
The representatives of EEC have, with the support of certain specialized companies, installed the plant for treatment of well water. The technology is based on purification of water by sand and colloid filters, and for the process of water softening reverse osmosis has been chosen. The plant is fully automated and remote controlled. Optimization of net water consumption in the plant has been made as also optimization of electrical energy consumption by the selection of adequate pumps.
Waste water treatment plant
Heat recovery in brew house
CIP (cleaning in place) automation
The representatives of EEC have automated CIP, and entirely visualized the cleaning process by the control of concentration and the temperature of the cleaning agent. Automated dosing of the concentrated agent has been installed as also heating of the diluted agent to the required temperature. The result of this is improved quality of cleaning with decreased consumption of the cleaning agent, water and energy.
Automation of the plant for water degassing
The representatives of EEC have automated a plant for water degassing with minimization of energy consumption.
Shock absorbers for hydraulic shock (water hammer)
The representatives of EEC possess great experience related to hydraulic shocks which occur by the contact between steam and cooled condensate or by specific technologies, at which on certain machines, for example centrifugal separators, in the moment of discharging high density substances the flow of the liquidhas been completely stopped, or related to the unbalance doperations of valves and pumps. This type of shocks has a bad influence on the equipment and therefore it causes often failures on the weakest points. Each of the named examples of shocks, the representatives of EEC have managed to eliminate successfully. Also, the most frequentfailures on heat exchangers, pumps and valves, that have been caused by hydraulic shocks or cavitation have been emended.
Modifications and automation of tunnel pasteurizers
Heat exchangers have been installed instead of using directly steam for heating, hence, the complete regulation of PU (pasteurization units) has been improved in addition to the savings of water, heat energy and condensate recovery.
Dosing stations
Home brewery
The representatives of EEC have made for their own purpose, semi–automated mini brewery– 45 l capacity. Understandably possibility exists for the construction of a mini brewery with a larger volume than the mentioned one, and also the complete automation of it.
Solar energy
We possess significant experience regarding the installation of solar systems for electrical energy production. The system of constant electrical energy supply from solar photovoltaic panels has been implemented as a hobby at a location that did not have common electrical connection. Led by practical experience and by applying suitable knowledge it is possible to dimension the installations according to the purpose and wish of the client. This type of systems is favorable for lighting, irrigation, electrical motor drive…Cost-effectiveness of the systems significantly depends on the selection of the consumers, which we can also adequately elaborate. Interesting fact is that we have made first solar merry-go-round in Serbia with variable speed drive(PWM –Pulse Width Modulation).
